Dirty Birthday Cake

I can not take credit for this idea. I found it in a book at the library, but I will take credit for being able to carry it out! I was super happy with the way my worm cake turned out.

Supplies needed:
Bunt cake pan
Frosting (your choice of flavor and color)
Lots of candy

Directions:
(1) Bake cake as directed. Let cool completely. Cut in half and put halfs end to end to make a worm shape
(2) Frost cake generously (you will need some depth to the frosting so your candy can stick)
(3) Decorate with candy (I used twizzlers, skittles, and marshmeellows)
(4) Eat and enjoy!

Notes: I used little skewers to hold the antenni up. Just stick it throught the twizzler and into the cake--this helps it to be a little more sturdy.

I also made some cupcakes to go with the worm cake. These are just chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I crumbeled up chocolate animal crackers to look like dirt granules and then placed 2 gummy worms on each cupcake so it looks like worms crawling in the dirt.
