Supplies needed:
Desired pattern (for this I needed an "oval" and a "Y")
Applique paper (there are several kinds at Jo Anns)
Material for your pattern (blue for the "oval" and white for the "Y")
Iron
Sewing machine
Thread (I used white)

Directions:
(1) Trace pattern onto applique paper and cut out
(2) Trace pattern onto material and cut out
(3) Press blue material to applique with iron; then press them both to the shirt (or whatever you are appliqueing)
(4) Repeat step 3 for "Y"
(5) Zigzag stitch around the "oval" and then around the "Y"

Notes: Be sure to follow the directions on the applique material that you get-directions vary with different types of paper.
