Super Hero

Carson totally loves SUPER WHY, the cartoon. Super Why is one of those shows that I actually love too-it does a good job teaching something. Carson has learned almost his whole alphabet thanks to Super Why. He LOVES it. So natuarlly I thought it would be awesome to make him his own Super Why cape and mask as a Christmas gift. So that I did. Same colors as Super Why's and everything. I did add a C on the back for Carson.

All I can say is that its a good thing someone loves it-unfortunately that someone is me! Carson totally gets that its "Super Why" but wants nothing to do with it. Sad huh?! Oh well. It was good practice and maybe he'll change his mind one of these days!

"One" board

This project was free, as I already had all materials needed, wooden boards, paint, Cricut, make the cut etc. This quote is all the rage at Deseret Book right now-that's where I found it. So maybe this project is illegal... I don't know but oh well.

I made these this year as part of a Christmas project. Easy as pie...
I painted my boards the color I wanted the lettering (Off white on board below)
I used my cricut + make the cut to print the lettering. Put it on the boards.
I painted over the lettering the final color of the board (red on board below)
After letting paint dry, I peeled off the lettering which revelaed the off-white letters

This one was the same concept-except no painting involved. I just printed out the vinyl lettering and put it on the charger.

I wanted to do some "home made" gifts for our family gift exchanges this year. Both families that we had (Petersens and DeMoss) have little girls in their families and I had found this cute "pattern" on line. Since I don't have any girls it is always fun to have an excuse to make something cute and girly. I made these skirts for each of my nieces and I really like how they turned out!

The Petersen girls wearing their new skirts!

Captain A

I love how Skyler's Captain America's costume turned out for Halloween! At DI I found this blue shirt and pants (perfect color!) as well as the red gloves! Then I....

Cut and appliqued the star to the front of shirt
Made the red and white striped belt
Adjusted and hemmed the pants
Made the boots (two parts-"leg warmers" and booties)
Made the black belt

I LOVE it! And I think he looked awesome! and although we did see a few other Captain A's they all had the same store bought costume so Skyler's was super unique!

Some Halloween crafts I made this year for our party. for the jars just used my Cricut + Make the Cut to cut out some vinyl letters and then applied them to some fun jars. SO EASY! I love my Cricut!

I finally made my first "triangle banner." I have seen so many of these and I am pleased with how this turned out. Again I just used my Cricut + Make the cut + glue. Super easy!

Magnet Board

I recently completed this project which I love! I got this wooden magnet board at the DI for $2 and was so excited.

I painted a brown strip at the top and then placed my vinyl quote across it (so my quote would end up brown when all is said and done).

I used my cricut and Make the Cut to cut out shapes and my quote from vinyl. Then I stuck them on the board and started painting. All green.
Once everything was dry (after a few coats of paint) i started peeling the vinyl off. It worked really well!

The letters were a success-brown as could be!
And this was my finished product after painting the shapes and getting all the vinyl off: (I LOVE IT!)

I was pretty pleased with how my painting job turned out! Skyler picked out the colors for all the birds and butterflies!
